A Whirlwind of Progress – Exciting Updates at Pathways to Hope

We’ve been very busy, a true whirlwind of activity, and we have more exciting news than we can fit into one update! We appreciate your patience as we share these developments, especially for those hearing them for the first time.

New Beginnings — In April 2024, we officially acquired the former “Four Kings Cafe”, restaurant and bar located at 4642 Jennings Lane. We wasted no time diving into renovations. Our immediate priority was to help the previous tenants relocate and clear out all the old bed-bug-infested furnishings.

Following that, we undertook a thorough extermination process and began a complete remodel. We started by renovating the rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and showers to prepare for our mentees. As clients started moving in and settling into their new spaces, we shifted to the bar and restaurant areas. These spaces are being converted into program areas, a communal kitchen, a dining room, a computer lab, a library, and a counseling center.

Bringing Services Under One Roof — For the past decade, we’ve envisioned a central location for our comprehensive services, and that vision is now becoming a reality! Soon, we’ll be able to offer a wide range of in-house services, including:

Case management
Sex addiction therapeutic counseling
Computer lab access
Regular counseling

In addition to these new offerings, we are currently providing weekly Bible studies, on-site church services, budgeting classes, and movie nights. We’ve been blessed to be able to provide (7) vehicles to our mentees over the last year and we’re thrilled about the expanded opportunities this new facility provides, allowing us to better serve our community.

Cookout at Pathways

The aroma of grilled food and the sounds of inspiring music filled the air recently as The Prisoner’s Hope hosted a heartwarming cookout at Pathways to Hope on the 4th of July weekend. It literally was “heartwarming” as the temperature soared into the upper 90’s, but the crowd managed to stay hydrated. The event brought together staff, families, mentors,and mentees for an afternoon of fellowship, good food, and powerful performances by the Christian band, Hush Harbor. The event also allowed The Prisoner’s Hope to recognize Keith, Chris, and Clifford who recently celebrated their birthdays.

Hush Harbor, known for their powerful contemporary Christian music, has a mission to share the Gospel through their “Do, Say, and Play” philosophy. Their engaging set resonated with attendees, providing a message of hope and encouragement. The collaboration between The Prisoner’s Hope coupled with the uplifting music of Hush Harbor, exemplifies the power of collective effort in transforming lives and building stronger communities.

A Swingin’ Success

The sun shone brightly on May 19th as 71 golfers gathered at the Hidden Creek Golf Club for our Fairways to Hope highly anticipated annual Golf Scramble Fundraiser. The day proved to be a resounding success.
“We are thrilled with the turnout and the support we received,” said Darryll Davis. “The rain held off, the course was beautiful, and our community showed up in full force. Events like this are vital for us to continue our work, and we are grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, and volunteered.” The success of this year’s Golf Scramble would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Shirley’s Way, Go Ministries, Chick-Fil-A, Rev-a-Shelf

A special thank you to the dedicated team of volunteers whose tireless efforts ensured the event ran smoothly. The funds raised at this year’s Golf Scramble (over $20,000) will help greatly in our endeavors.The Prisoner’s Hope looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another fantastic day of golf and giving at Glen Oaks Golf Club on May 11th, 2026 for the 7th Annual Fairways of Hope golf scramble and fundraiser!

TPH Transformed Lives

Jimmy shares his testimony after spending 26 years in prison on a “life-on-installments” sentence. He grew up adopted and feeling a void that led him to destructive behaviors, born addicted to drugs.

His transformation began at his lowest point in “the hole” at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, where he felt God provided a way for him to abandon gang activity. Despite facing violence for his newfound faith, he felt divine protection. A pivotal moment was his transfer to Southeast Correctional Complex, where he found a strong community dedicated to Christ despite limited formal services. It was there, while in solitary, that he prayed for understanding of Jesus and subsequently began to comprehend the Bible, especially “the red letters,” recognizing God’s gift and grace.

Key individuals instrumental in his change include Mike, who introduced him to Miss Glenda and Darryll, who helped him find a mentor, Roger, who broke down his walls of distrust and showed him he had a “family out here.” He also expresses gratitude to Ms. Glenda.

Jimmy extols the “Pathways to Hope” and “Prisoners of Hope” programs as “godsends”. He believes “God exists” within these programs, emphasizing the profound impact mentors have on incarcerated individuals, providing a crucial sense of family and counteracting pervasive negativity.

Currently, Jimmy carries no hatred or anger in his heart, a testament to his spiritual transformation. His message to mentors is to recognize that many incarcerated individuals lack true friends or family support, making the positive affirmation from these programs invaluable. His personal goals are to “give back” and “help people” who have walked similar paths, offering them the same hope he received.

“Serving up hope in every cup” isn’t just a theme; it’s our mission at Grounds for Hope Cafe.

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our coffee shop, a blessed opportunity in the heart of Anchorage!

This mid-April, Go Ministries connected to an incredible, turnkey coffee shop operation. The best part? We run it completely free of overhead for the space, meaning every dollar beyond what is spent on baristas and product directly benefits TPH. After much prayer and discussion, it became clear this was a God-given opportunity, and we embraced it.

Our amazing staff, led by Tiffany, is ready to welcome you. Whether you’re a Bible study group, a small gathering, or just looking for a peaceful spot, we have you covered. Enjoy our back deck with its serene creek view, or relax inside our warm and inviting shop. We offer a delicious selection of lattes, iced coffees, pastries, and more. Plus, we’re pet-friendly!

Our prayer and hope is that we can serve and love the Anchorage neighborhood well, while exalting Christ in the workplace.

Next Chapter – Noah’s Kitchen

Discover Noah’s Kitchen, a new non-profit culinary gem nestled conveniently behind Norton Commons. With its upscale decor and a chef renowned for excellence, Noah’s Kitchen, owned and operated by Adam Ursprung, offers more than just a superb dining experience.

Adam’s inspiration for the name comes from Noah’s Ark, a reflection of his commitment to giving back. All profits from Noah’s Kitchen are channeled into Noah’s Movement, a dedicated philanthropic initiative. This movement meticulously distributes funds to impactful non-profit organizations. Beneficiaries include The Prisoner’s Hope, Hope Rescued, Refuge for Women, and Sunrise Children’s Services, ensuring every meal contributes to a greater good.

Excitingly, Noah’s Kitchen now features “Grounds for Hope” Coffee Corner, an in-house coffee service offering a curated selection of high-end coffees, lattes, and other beverages.
